No way on Meier. Can't see them parting with a guy they drafted 9th two years ago. I could see a Sharks 2018 1st for Kovy and a 3rd though. Sharks would likely be picking in the mid twenties again.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get a top prospect for Kovy, just can't see it. I think a 2018 first from a team expecting to compete for a cup is probably the high end of what we can get though.

Wouldn't be shocked to see Marty talk to Armstrong about bringing in Kovalchuk and I am not sure if they are friends or not but I'm sure being on the same team as Tarasenko couldn't hurt either. Could we get Paryako for him ? Not sure if he is pegged as a top 4 guy or someone who is going to be elite.

How do you know they wont offer more ? As if worse players haven't fetched that or more at the trade deadline. Also If two teams competing for the cup are interested in Kovy and the one team will only fork over a second or B prospect then you know that other team will to try and win the cup.

Parayko is a 23 year old RHD averaging near 0.5 points a game. No way St Louis parts with him, especially after trading Shattenkirk.

Both Freidman and McKenzie said the interest in Kovy is very high. All these people saying we're going to accept some middling return because of fears about his age or returning to Russia are pretty much wrong.

If this is all that was offered, I'd have to call Kovy and give him the bad news... that he's staying in Russia for another year because nobody wants him.
